From the greenhouse to the hen house, it was a spring clean weekend!

@

Despite unstable winters with sudden 20 plus degrees days in January and -20 degrees the day after, and snow in June, we can see that spring is on its way. We hadn't cleared out the greenhouse after last year's season, so it was time to get some spring cleaning going!

The animals love to check in on what's happening, so all the cats, dogs and horses were following us around to see what we were up to ;)

Pusilen Fluffy likes to get a "bird's eye view" on everything from the fruit trees :D

"Before" pictures. Spring cleaning was definitely in order!

Yours truly getting down and dirty! Check out my cool outfit... pregnant wear from Tractor Girls!! Both preggo pants, and a jacket with an extra "flap" for the front. Very nice!

Kristoffer and Liv putting in some cleaning time. Liv also got a fun outfit from Tactor Girls. So cute! You'll definitely be seeing us in these more often now.

Tada! Three hours later :) Now, we just had to get everything ready for the plants!

We've explained a lot about seeds and plants to Liv, so she's the "greenhouse boss" now. As the project manager, she had the most important job of filling up the containers with soil ;)

Little seeds in little hands!

We started planting after the soil warmed up a little inside the greenhouse.

Watering the plants, Liv style. She insisted on using her princess drink bottle... :) You can see Mjæw1 sitting outside the window and dozing in the heat, making sure she does it right ;)

We decided not to have a large vegetable production this year. We'll just grow for our personal use, since we have another child on the way and we just made the whole farm organic in one swoop. But we'll have plenty to keep up with for this year's greenhouse veggies - we're so looking forward to all the fruits of our labor, like the magical, cherry tomatoes that were like candy for Liv!

In the picture below, you can see us giving a splint to one of the sheep to help her leg. We hope she heals up well soon! Its almost time for shaving the sheep, and about one month before the lambs come if our calculations are correct... and yes, adorable lamb pictures will be coming ;)

The chickens got their first trip out this weekend as well, and had their own spring cleaning to spruce up their home after winter. We look forward to more sun because that really kicks up the egg production... so more "sunny-side up" soon!

I'm almost finished with my book from my end, since I can't really get more done before I get more feedback on various copyediting and layout of photos from the designer. I can tell you that the first sketches from the designer were VERY fun to see, and I promise to share a sneakpeek with you when we've got it all worked out!

Wednesday this week, I was in Haugesund Conference with Innovation Norway, and was named the best speaker there! Today, Sunday, I kept posting on a major conference in New York City and judging by the length of the applause, they were also very happy with the talk! It's very nice for a preggo that's getting fat and round to get some good ol' affirmation! ;) Kristoffer and Liv held down the fort while Mum was on the go, and today they've split wood, too!

The water is back in almost all the faucets again after last weekend's drama. The only fly in the ointment right now is that the pony we got this summer, Noddy, turns out to have chronic laminitis and has most likely had it a long time. It really flared up for Christmas, and he stands with styrofoam and duct tape around all hooves now, lots of fleece inside the box and lots of painkillers ... If it does not show improvement within a few weeks, it does not look so bright for him... :( ugh ... sad!!!

Send Noddy love and healing, so we don't have to look for a new friend for Capitan!

I´ll keep you posted. Thanks for reading up on our farm update!
